Our theme this year is “Everything old is new again.” So in addition to our usual small tournaments we will offer many opportunities to learn these older “Retro” games, as well as newer games – and meet new people!<\/p>\r\n
TTR World Maps<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n GM: Perrianne Lurie & Lee Mewshaw<\/p>\r\n H1: Friday 10AM, H2: Friday 3:30PM, H3: Saturday 10AM, Final: Saturday 8PM<\/p>\r\n In each of 3 heats, players will be assigned to play one of the Ticket to Ride versions (such as Switzerland, Iberia, Africa, India, UK, etc) Since most people are not familiar with the versions, this will be a coached event. Each table will take time to learn your assigned version before beginning to play. This is a great chance to try out other versions of TTR! After the three heats, the top 4 players will advance to a final game on Saturday night.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n If we have at least 8 players, this game will award Meeple League<\/a> points.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Kudos to Scott Saccenti for creating this format.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Cascadia<\/strong><\/p>\r\n GM: Marcy Morelli<\/p>\r\n Demo: Friday 11:30AM, H1:\u00a0 Friday, noon, followed immediately by a Final game.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Up to 16 players will compete in Cascadia. We will use the base game, no expansions.<\/p>\r\n The Top 4 players will then play a Final game to determine a winner.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n If we have at least 8 players, this game will award Meeple League<\/a> points.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Carcassonne<\/strong> (Retro tournament)<\/p>\r\n GM: Marcy Morelli<\/p>\r\n Demo: Sunday 10:30AM, H1: Sunday 11AM followed immediately by a Final game.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Up to 16 players will compete in Carcassonne. We will use the base game, no expansions. The first player will use the starting tile as their first tile.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n The top 4 players will then play a Final game to determine a winner. If needed, we may include a 2nd place player if we need to fill out the Final table.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Guillotine<\/strong> (Retro tournament)<\/p>\r\n GM: Marcy Morelli<\/p>\r\n Saturday 6PM<\/p>\r\n This tournament will use the standard Guillotine rules, with each game consisting of 3 “days.” A short demo will proceed the first game for anyone who needs it.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n This is a double elimination tournament. Players continue until they have lost two games, at which point they are knocked out of the tournament. Once we are down to four people who have not lost two games, those four players will play a final game to determine the winner of the tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Risk<\/strong> (Retro tournament)<\/p>\r\n GM: John Mewshaw<\/p>\r\n Demo: Friday 1PM, H1: Friday 1:30PM, Final: Saturday 4PM<\/p>\r\n Up to 16 players will compete in Risk. This tournament will use the standard Risk rules, as published by Hasbro here: https:\/\/consumercare.hasbro.com\/api\/download\/B7404_en-us<\/a><\/p>\r\n The top 4 players will then play a Final game to determine a winner.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Titan<\/strong> (Retro tournament)<\/p>\r\n GM: Art Wines<\/p>\r\n Demo: Friday 6:30PM, H1: Friday 7:00PM, H2: Saturday 9:30AM Final: Sunday 9AM\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Note that the Saturday game will break at 11:30 so players can attend the 30th anniversary lunch if they wish. Play will continue at 1:30PM.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Up to 20 players (if we have enough copies) will compete in two heats of Titan. Rules version will be announced prior to play. The Top 5 players will then play a Final game to determine a winner. If needed, we may include one or more 2nd place players if we need to fill out the Final table<\/p>\r\n (Fri & Sat, 9:30pm)<\/p>\r\n On Friday and Saturday nights, join us for your favorite fun, light games, including Cross Clues, Just One, Code Names, Cheeky Monkey, and many more!\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Meet at the designated table, which will have many party games available. Players will self-organize into one or more games, as needed. Play may continue until the doors are locked at 1AM.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n (Saturday April 11, 9 am – midnight)<\/p>\r\n Mega Civ<\/a> is an epic game that takes up to 18 players and will take ALL day Saturday. New players are welcome as the mechanics are easy to learn. There will be a demo on Friday April 10 from 6-8pm.<\/p>\r\n Map choice will be determined after the GM knows how many people are available to play.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Please sign up in advance by emailing Jamie Tang<\/a> if interested. If possible, Jamie will try to accommodate walk-ins who check in with her by 9 am Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n In a Learn & Play, an experienced volunteer will teach you the rules of the game. Afterwards, the volunteer will help get the players into a full game. If more than one copy is available and there is enough interest, two games may be started. If you are familiar with the game, it’s ok to join in once the demo has finished.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n Feature: Popular games from 1995 – 2005<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Feature: Hot New Games<\/strong><\/p>\r\n We’ll also feature some new games that were released from 2023- 2026.<\/p>\r\n Magic & Steel RPG<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Saturday, 2 – 5PM<\/p>\r\n Don Woods, author of this fantasy role playing game system, will teach the basics of the game. Up to 6 players will then play the “Dragon Express Airborne Mail” scenario, which should require up to 3 hours to play. No experience is required.
